Non-Latin Windows username breaks the launcher
Your Windows username has non-Latin letters in it. Before build 44 that made the launcher close without a word.
What you see
Luduvo.exe opens in the background and closes after a few seconds.
Who's affected
Windows users whose username uses Cyrillic, Greek or accented letters, on build 43 or older.
What to do
- Update Luduvo to build 44 or newer. That build fixed the launcher for Cyrillic and other non-Latin usernames.
Don't bother with
- Renaming your Windows user folder. It can break other programs.
Status
Fixed in build 44. If you still see it, update Luduvo first.
“The saga finally ends.”
How the Doctor spots it
It looks for log lines like these (patterns, not exact text):
[A-Za-z]:+Users+(?:<non-ascii user>|[^]*\x[0-9A-Fa-f]{2}|[^]*[^\u0000-\u007f])
