Shader files missing
Luduvo couldn't find its shader files, so the renderer couldn't start.
What you see
Luduvo fails to launch after an update. Seen on launch day.
Who's affected
Windows players around launch day, 12 to 13 Sep.
What to do
- Update Luduvo. This was a launch-day bug and hasn't turned up in build 44 logs.
- If it still happens, close Luduvo, press Win + R, paste %APPDATA%\Luduvo\Client and delete the content folder. Luduvo downloads it again next time.
Don't bother with
- Copying shader files from someone else's PC.
Status
Fixed. If you still see it, update Luduvo first.
“Some of you who previously installed or joined Luduvo were completely locked out due to a shader issue. This is our top priority”
How the Doctor spots it
It looks for log lines like these (patterns, not exact text):
Load_shader: failed to read transpiled shaderFATAL: shader directory '[^']*' does not exist
